Family Self Sufficiency

Family Self Sufficiency resources are provided to families to help them become economically empowered. HADC has developed strong relationships with the partnering agencies to provide specific training and employment resources to our clients.

HADC established the Business Center in the heart of the community for the purpose of Small Business Development. The center provides up-to-date technology, training, and resources for eligible individuals interested in starting a small business or improving their current economic status. This program is available to all residents of public housing and Housing Choice Voucher recipients.

The goal of the Business Service Center is to act as a business incubator within the community. By providing technical resources equipped with up-to-date software, internet access, office automated equipment, and how-to literature, clients are given the chance to move forward in achieving their personal goals.

The focus has been to provide competent, direct, and accessible resources to residents and Housing Choice Voucher program participants alike and this vision will continue on into the future.

The DeKalb Workforce Center offers a one-stop approach that allows residents to explore work preparation and career development services and have access to a range of employment, adult, and occupational education and training programs. These services are grouped into the following categories: Core Services, Intensive Services, Training Services and Business Services.
