FUP

The purpose of the Family Unification Program (FUP) is:

  • 1. Promote family unification by providing housing choice vouchers to families for whom the lack of adequate housing is a primary factor in the separation, or the threat of imminent separation, of children from their families, and
  • 2. Provide housing choice vouchers to youths 18 to 21 years old who left foster care at age 16 or older and lack adequate housing.

FUP is a unique collaboration with the local Department of Family and Children's Services (DFCS), the Women's Resource Center (for domestic violence), and the Housing Authority of DeKalb County. DFCS certifies that the families meet the eligibility criteria and continues to provide follow up services after the family leases up.
